Incredible job on the video. The terrain there was perfect for this rig. Both the truck and the camera work were spot on.

I don’t know how anybody manages to drive while keeping a camera that close and well aimed - I can do one or the other, but not both at the same time!

As a suggestion - you might not want to consider it immediately, but I recently converted my RWD HiLux to 4x4, and as you're probably aware you can buy powered front axles for the Tamiya 1/14th scale trucks (from Lesu and similar) - so it might be worth converting it to 4x4 at some point with a suitable transfer case? fwiw. I imagine a faster (eg 550 12t) motor would give it some proper Dakar speed too - although I would say that your running video makes it look very scale realistic already in that regard.

I had thought about converting to 4wd, its just a matter of cost. I likely will eventually, but I think I just wanted to get it up and running first. I also did enjoy sliding it around with just rear wheel drive haha.
Had also thought about a diffetent motor although Im worried about tipping it. It aint the most stable of rigs, I think a roll at any great speed would destroy it.

Second test vid

Am feeling a lot more confident in how it handles now. Still getting a bit of slipping in third gear

Probably just need to adjust the servo end point, might not be fully engaging 3rd. Does pretty good for being 2wd in sand.
