I needed something a little more maneuverable then my f350 for comping. So, The juice is about to loose on c1 I’ll make a bigger post I’m once things are furthered and done, and I make an actual post for the moon buggy build.

Made some
Progress on the actual chassis for it today. I’m unsure if I’ll use this style radius arm or build one off a double sheer bracket style like the early radius arms you would use to solid axle an aero nose on the cheap. Well see.

Took one of my transmission I designed for my race prepped smt build, removed an output gear and blingo blango, axial 2 gear, divorced fwdmount transmission-o. Flanged bearings, 3.2mm 6061 sides. Should survive just fine. Might do some reorientation, but for now it’s fine. Started reprinting the front driver door, and fender as I used two difference printers and orientation and some how lost 1.5mm in length on that section. So there’s that. But it did look good. I just can’t live knowing it’s off. Nobody would ever notice. I’ll lose sleep.

So I waited to make another post until I had some success with the endeavor of building my own kiln, and figuring out metal casting. Here’s the result in my first 4 attempts at casting some scale ford style radius beams. The final seems to be an almost acceptable outcome. In my 2 days of attempts I’ve gotten much better results with some methods figured out.

Now while doing this I decided I wanted some more capability out of the rig as it will be my class1 comp rig for next season. So I decided to narrow up some capra axles, spring under onthe rear. Also got
Most of the rest of the body printed and here’s how she sits currently. Lastly is Frank, (photos on next post.) the goodest helper bringing in some kindling for the kiln, then expressing my general feeling 99% of the time. .

Very cool!

When I was in undergraduate school (Sculpture) we did lost wax bronze casting. I was very fun, and I haven't thought about it for many years until I saw this.

Nice, wax is next. I’ve been doing lost pla but burn out is kinda tricky, today my wax casting resin for my SLA printer will be here and I print the entire set up
With sprue and vents in one shot! Excited for the ease of that. But some pricey material.

Much success today. Finally got a completely usable set. Maybe not the greatest cast but pla is kind of a pain. My wax resin showed up today so I can make these again but hopefully a lot cleaner of a cast.

Awesome stuff so far. Did I miss where you mentioned what type of metal you are casting with?
The first attempts were aluminum. But I think aluminum is just a bit too hard to to work with with a basic set up, so brass has been the choice on the stuff that’s turning out

Got the top fitted, some fender flares designed and printed(they bolt
On from inside) and some interior pieces designed and printed. That is all. Once I’ve got it All printed I’ll start finishing/sanding. A useful tip for anyone that is printing bodys in petg. It sands like concrete. A good trick is first thing, just spend a few minutes roughing with 36/60. Then clear coat it. Tack coat followed by 2-4 actual coats. You’ll fill the majority of the print lines, with a medium that sands much more desirably. And your following primer will stick much better to the clear then to the petg surface.

Got a basic set of captains chairs with that glorious ford center console
You could fit every single one of your friends giant cd books in, Printed. This is a temp as I’m unsure how I’ll end up mounting it in the end, it does hide a 5200mah 3s under it well. Finalized suspension. Now I just need to re design the shock towers cutting off all the mounting I didn’t use, then I’ll probably cast them in aluminum aswell.

Did someone say "Bronco?"
Looking good! Is that one of the bodies from Cults? Hora or Aleesa? I've got a couple set of file from them and they needed a fair bit of work. Also, did you design those flares?

I'm loving the cast pieces, too! I've been playing with the idea of printing and casting a TTB for a second build. It's a rough design so far, but the concept works.

Nice! I started with the hora body, but it was way weird different dimensions side to side and what not, I pretty much just used his seats, and roof. Then redesigned/modified most of the rest. Flares are my design. Nice ttb! I’ve gotten one designed aswell. The only thing I didn’t find is a perfect dog bone to make that passenger side shaft. Maybe one day I’ll finish it, the idea of fighting TTB on my daily and little truck sounds horrible currently.

And more- plus a video I’ll post on the scale builders guild Facebook page. Thinking I need some limiting straps in the mix with this guy. The scale bounce and roll is amazing though

edit: guess the private group got archived so no videos for you unless you go to my Instagram @lsd_concepts
