Hey hey didnt ever realize there was an MT section on here. I got into racing last year with a basically box stock smt. This inspired me to go in head first and design and produce my own chassis, and transmission for this years racing season. Here’s a bunch of pics. The chassis is 3.2mm 6061, I prototyped with help of a friends laser table in 3mm plywood. The transmission uses all axial gears, but like a trx4, is built for counter rotation option. This has significantly helped with torque twist, and now have equal cornering ability’s. Headers have leds, and light up according to throttle input. The motor is a fan housing to cool the end bell. The trailing arms were dual 2mm aluminum laser cut plates bent over with printed inserts.

Quite the machine! The chassis reminds me of some of the older, wildly built up HPI Savages from back in the day. Of course the light splashes of anodized purple add to that. But it seems a pretty solid and well adjustable design, I imagine you could tune it up pretty easily for any type of competition.

Is it still on AR60s? Must be fun to race- and rebuild!

Thanks! Yea it still uses a smt skid but more
Geometry options. Can run trailing arm mid shock mounts, battery is maybe 3/8” lower and 2” forward. I don’t know why company’s add so much anti squat front and rear factory.

Thanks! Yes it’s in ar60s, blu tak in diffs, left stock wild boars as weak link. They’ll twist up before they go. Working on getting some 7mm dlux shafts cut for open diff now. Lmt axles are tempting. But I don’t think you can flip the diff in them, and this counter rotation is too good to give up for slightly stronger set of (500$) axles
