Finally building a scale truck playground

This is something I've been meaning to do ever since we moved into our house nine years ago. I'm finally getting around to it, after a few false starts and failed attempts. But when we started redoing a patch of land as an ornamental garden, I made a pitch to have half of it incorporate some rock piles and trails for tiny trucks. My wife agreed, as long as the result "looked nice."

So here's where it stands as of today, after something like eight trips to the local rock and gravel yard...

That little bridge needs to be finished; right now there's no ramps leading up to or down from it. Need to gather more branches.

But the rock piles work:

As for looking nice? Well, I think we did OK. It's not as pretty as the rest of the garden, but it'll do.

More work to do, but at least it's a start. Now I need to finish building more trucks so I have more stuff to drive on it...

It needs a name, too. Still working on that.

It's me again.
Off to a great start.
You have a super beautiful yard.
What's the cool model B ford wheel attached too ?
and
More please.

Thanks! Those old Ford wheels are on a rickety old utility trailer that belongs to my neighbor. I've never actually seen him use it, I think he just likes the way it looks. I actually almost forgot it's there, usually their giant 30 foot motorhome takes up that whole side of their driveway. (The little retaining wall is the property line.)

Got the bridge finished today:

...but it's really hard to climb. The slats are too far apart.

So I added more.

That's better! Now there's an "easy" approach and a "hard" approach. But is the "easy" approach easy enough for the less-capable trucks? Let's see...

Yep... just barely.

And I think it's done, for now. Time to go back to building trucks so I have something to drive on all this goodness. Maybe later I'll add some more details, maybe even a barn or garage or something. (Or with my skills, maybe just a lean-to.)

On your way.
Bridges are a blast.
It's a lot like model railroading I'm finding out. You can always change and fix things to make for a more fluid run.

Keep it coming.
