I've been sitting on some parts for a while, and so I decided to start this build, I've been wanting a short wheel base truck.

I've modified the rock pirates shock mounts in the back to fit under the bed, an attempt to keep things scale. I need shorter shocks though, and will likely go with 70 or 80mm.

The wheels and tires are off my knight runner, so they're 1.55 rims with 3.85" tires, not sure if I'm going to leave those or not yet.. I'm still waiting on electronics, so I have time to decide what I want to do.

Thanks for looking, updates will come as I get things done!

Looking good (well, other than the overly long shocks as you pointed out) - I'd go for 80mm shocks with soft springs to get the ride-height down, but which will still offer a little more articulation than 70mm ones.

As a thought, since you have canted forward rear shock mounts, you might even get some 90mm ones under the bed, but again, use soft springs to lower the ride height while maximising droop travel available.

Looking forward to seeing this progress!

Thank you sir, there are 90mm on it now, but the springs aren't the softest, so I might change them quick, since I have them, I could go up to 4.19s as well, that might make it look a little better. I felt 70s were a bit short.

Had an old 3 gear trans in a truck I don't run that already had a spektrum 2 in 1 attached, so I put it in here, at some point I'll build the 10.2 trans and put it in the other truck

I fit the bench seat into the body to make sure it fit and it clears the trans just fine! It's tight, but it fits!

I decided to put 4.65 tires on it, and I think I want the bigger tires.. the smaller ones would be fine on the trail finder chassis, but if I lower this enough, I feel I lose to much articulation, and I had issues with small ties where I crawl here. So I'll clear the front fenders to fit the bigger tires and stick with 90mm shocks on soft springs.

On another note, I think it looks cool in the shop!! Lol

You can call me Mr. Dobalina.
Put some 4.65 tires on it and, Bob's your uncle and Karen's your aunt, you have yourself a neat little monster truck!

Designed this battery tray in fusion for my crew cab mojave build and it works great, but I just realized a design flaw, in that I only made available the one shock hole... so I'll redesign it, and print it again. But it works fine, and there's a small tray on the other side one could use for small tools or something.

Nothing overly new for this site, but I decided to try my hand at it! Felt like the hood needed to open. So I'm printing a knight customs engine to show off under it.

Well 3 or 4 am got me working Hood hinges, they aren't perfect, and only open so far, but I'm pretty excited I got that much done. Now all that's left to do is.... everything.. haha.

Well my printer shit the bed apparently, half way through this print, it stopped melting fillimen... so I guess it's going to be new printer day at some point...

Oh ya, I started the firewall as well!

Well, I decided to try my hand at something else, we'll see how well I can do opening doors, and of course I'll have to make a full interior.

It'll be interesting to see how ya hide the giant transmission in there, as the Floor in a Hilux is basically flat!

This is with the rc4wd seat in it. I might have to make some kind of a trans tunnel, but it should be somewhat flat with any luck.

Wew! Certainly sit just a lil higher than my real one! I'd probably go for buckets with a center console, as you'd be able to get a little closer to a full depth seating position. But that'd involve getting/making seats and a console.

I don't hate that idea actually. My new printer will be here in a few days, so I'll be able to print some seats off, and scratch building some things shouldn't be terrible, as long as I take my time.
