Default Work truck buildoff - Unimog rally car chase truck.

A while back I took a Trx4 chassis on trade. wasn't really sure what to do with it but I do know that portal axles says Unimog to me. So here we go.

I sure hope this qualifies for as a work truck. Not sure if a mobile work shop chasing around a rally car with tools and spare parts is really work. Might be more fun. I did want to be a part of the build off so I hope so.

I sure like the examples of rally trucks being built lately. most are Iveco's and mann's. haven't actually seen any Unimog rally trucks. I did think that a Mog would make a great heavy truck to have a mobile pit shop in. So that's the plan. I searched around for any inspiration pics. not many to be found but here s what I did find.

Most of these seem to be for servicing a large race truck, as mine is going to be for servicing a race car it will be scaled down. Also my OCD wants to see a nice clean organized and tidy work space. LOL.

Ordered up a very nice Unimog body from an internet shopping site. Once it arrived I started making a platform to attach to the chassis. A little work getting the chassis sorted the way I wanted. here it sits on the bench as off last night.

The dumb thing about these bodies is the amount of space between the body and the sliders on the TRX. It's rather annoying, how do you think you'll sort it out?

And yeah, cool as start my friend.
