Haha, who cares, this is a joy. Need to get to a euro event to see this thing!
Thanks. My money is on the Axor

Finished most of the paint, added some details like canvas roof liner and mesh for the vents in the font of the roof. Painted up Stinky Pete and cut out the Mk. IV chassis.

The body still sits too high in front in this photo, but it's half 11 so too tired to go back down for another photo.

Thank you Would've preferred something a litte more turquoise like the inspiration FJ. And wanted JS Scale to paint it for me, but it's such a complex sequence of paint and assemble that I had to do it myself to have it ready for USTE next week.

And speaking of ready - it runs!!

Just lights and engine left to do.

Got as far as I'm going to go with it until after USTE.

The steering wheel is fixed to Stinky Pete's hand. Makes taking him out for access easier.

The current to-do list, with lots of nice-to-haves missing (are these things ever really finished?).

So there's still stuff left to do but I'm looking forward to taking a break. Did at least an hour a day (most days at least 2 and sometimes 8 or more) on this for the last four months, except a week over Christmas and another snowboarding in January.

Looking fantastic, bare chassis with motor is awesome, definitely shows styrene chassis are worth pursuing!

Hope you have a great time at USTE then enjoy a well earned break!

At Orlando MCA they asked people to check their carry-on luggage into the hold because full flight. The FJ is super secure in a Pelican case so I volunteered. Just unpacked the FJ and found this:

Not that hard to fix but rather annoying all the same.
