Thread: Wooden Frame?

  1. #1

    Default Wooden Frame?

I am thinking of trying to build a scale full size pickup truck on a budget, and am not sure any commercial products would work for me anyways, and am wondering if I could build a frame, or at least cut the rails from quarter-inch plywood. This would give me frame rails with a fairly scale side profile, and would be easy to make, but I'm not sure about durability/long term viability. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Iíve seen it done. It works. With proper cross bracing it would be pretty rigid too. Unless you want it to flex like a real chassis too then you can make it less rigid. Obviously proper waterproofing would be required if you play in water.
