So... an upside down box arrived today:

Looks like it's from Shapeways but...

    20181106_164518.jpg

It's full of tiny wheels/tyres!! Thanks Pardonmynoob for these!

    Comparison with 1.9s:

And there's a new hub design for a hex rather than pin, don't know if these could be narrowed?

    Drag style:

And here's full smallness, very happy with them.

Slowly building up my collection of background boxes for the pics too, need to print off some scenes for them and improve the lighting a bit.

    Thanks for looking!

Edit: spot the silver nut, one of the correct items has gone for an adventure somewhere...

Thanks! Yeah, I agree, really pleased with them- solved all the tyre rub too. :)

A few more bits are here for the new chassis, it's now complete except for axles, gearbox, driveshafts and front links. Here it is assembled without that stuff:

Now with everything transferred over from the Honcho chassis and those bits borrowed. Looking nice with the Emu shocks I think, the body mounts/side panels from Rexracer look really neat too:

Currently borrowing a Savox servo from my racing buggy- totally not a crawler servo but super quick and this isn't really a hard-core truck anyway. More electronics in the post...

And while I'm transferring bits over I thought I'd do a little paint work. Filled holes and sorted imperfections in bed:

Then went with flat black, hoping it'll go well with the rack and make the depth/flat sides less obvious:

Also did some black underneath so the wheel wells don't look so obvious. I can also use electrical tape to hide wires now:

Happy with the results for now, will have some fun aging the bed when the paint's really dry.

If you are looking to narrow the 1.55's, rc4wd does offer a very slim, pin mount for them.

1.55's always look great on the hilux.

Great progress. I was going to mention the reduced offset hubs also...planning on using those myself.

Ah that's awesome, thanks SF!! They're in the cart, would look good with some scale hardware too methinks.

Thanks! Yes, it seems they should reduce the overall width by 1cm, bringing the Ar44 (192mm) down to roughly the same as a Yota II (180mm). Excellent.

Teeny extra update, these shut lines were really bugging me:

    20181206_194456.jpg

"Akkk, I can't open the tailgate, seems like someone's welded it across the top!?!?"

So I filed a bit then sharpie'd it:

"All working fine for me, hurry up and get her loaded up!"

    "Yes Hun..."
