After a bit of a break I've managed to make some progress here- was thinking about what options there are for small chassis and I looked up the dimensions of a wpl c24 (the little mini yota). Looked pretty close so for the price I thought it was worth trying and ordered a kit.

    Here it is built up:

Wheelbase is a tiny bit short:

So I used some Tamiya leaf shackles to extend it a little, then swapped the gearbox round to bring the driveshaft back into contact with the rear axle, and removed the front shaft- this needs to be rear wheel drive!

Looking perfect now except for those huge tyres!

So attempted my first tyre surgery with some old racing slicks:

Result is not pretty but it does work and gives me an idea how this will all fit together:

Then fitted some basic electronics, this will run on a little 2s pack I have and I'll be filling in some interior eventually. I've also taken the rear frame extension from my old high lift to use as a body mount:

Two screws through the back which will be covered by the rear bumper:

And two at the front hold the kit electronics tray up to the lunchbox grill mounts:

So at last I have a driver!!

Things to sort now- loads of detailing, lighting, interior and a small BA to drive it. Getting there. Might try some RC4WD 1.2 tyres too, does anyone know of any on road wheel/tyre options for these? I don't have anything else remotely small enough.

    Thanks for looking!

    Extremely Clever!!!
If I find any 1.2" Tyre options, I'll let you know. Those WPL things are pretty cheap, aren't they? I may try something similar... Maybe a Mystery Machine.
    You're making great progress!!!

Cheers! Yes, insanely cheap really, a mystery machine would be a great idea!

Wow. Glad to see the progress. Coming along great.
I love it when a plan comes together!
