I got the interior painted up and put together a quick rear cover that should still allow the body posts to pass through. Passable? Perhaps.

Looks good man! You're sure not making it any easier for me to be sitting on the fence about getting one of these. IS that just a piece of felt you've used for the rear cover on the interior?
    Cheers eh!

Why would you only get *one* of something ? :)

The back cover is a piece of styrene (painted black) with a space cut out for the rear body posts. Then I glued and taped some felt on there with some slits in it to allow the posts to pass through. I'm just trying minimized the open area but keep some rigidity. Then the whole thing was Shoe-Goo-ed and taped onto the Lexan interior.

I had some other drivers in mind, but the Tamiya guy fits so well and I had one in the parts bin, so...

I was originally going to name this fella Theodore (you could call him Teddy). Then my wife noticed that the primed figure has a striking resemblance to Alan Alda. I couldn't argue. Alan it is.

I also lengthened the front links by about 3.5mm to reduce some body rub. I used some plastic nuts from a leftover Axial parts tree...

Lengthening the front links had the front shocks laying down to much, so I flipped the front shock towers. The shocks are pretty much dead vertical now. That was lucky!

All wired up and ready to move under it's own power. A couple of quick laps up and down the hall confirmed that things are working as expected. Almost ready to get dirty!
