I am building my Tundra and the instructions suggest painting the middle of the chrome bumper semi gloss black. If i sand that area lightly and paint will it stay? or is there a better way.

Thanks for your advice

Hi Bob
If you mask off the area (protect the chrome from scratches) and sand with a fine scotch bright pad it should stick fine. better to spray so it's nice and thin, less prone to chipping.

Thanks Kev Will give it a try. I will have a build thread for this build which includes a MFC-2

I prep the same as Kev mention, and have great luck with a primer color as a finish coat

I know this is a late reply and you only want to strip a portion of the bumper but..........I use vinegar to strip chrome. It takes it right back to the plastic without any trouble. Just dunk the part in a jar full of vinegar and leave it for a few days, the chrome just disappears.
