Well as if I didnt have enough projects already on the go, this is one of the ones I want to get done soon...

I plan to turn my XXX-S Drift-R into a rally based Gymkahna car. The electronics will be waterproofed, and hopefully by spring a Novak brushless setup in it.

Here is a video of Kenblock doing an elaborated Gymkahna run.

Im sure with a few cars setup like this, some chalk, and a basic layout in a big parking lot it would be awesome.

Here is my junker I am working with...

My first hurdle is to clear up the rear diff issue, than to raise the height and put some heavy duty shocks and xxx-4 clutch in, tires, and than a body. :thumbsup

I will keep ya posted!

I agree with Kevin, Block is a hell of a driver.

Great VID and great idea for a car, I have become addicted to drifting and I want to get an all around sort of car to go with my commited drifter sometime in the summer....I guess I know what to call it now.

And I am soooo making that shell, I have been looking for a cool one for a long time, I guess I found it.

this is the basic outline I am using to get this thing to be a lil more forgiving when it comes to the cracks and speed bumps I plan on using this thing. Looks to be a fairly inexpensive build unless I start getting fancy with parts and such.

Heres the wheel and tire combo's I plan to do for the project:

As for the body I think I will do something similar to Ken Blocks car, but I might just pick up some black spray paint and some super fine grit sandpaper and do a flat black paint job, slap on a cf vinyl over the hood, throw on some custom decaling (I work at a sign shop), and than have some fun.

Another thing that I might attempt is something similar to Prolines Carnage body for the slash (breaks apart in roll overs and the like). By the sounds of it, its just some velcro that holds that body together so maybe it would be neat to have a rally carnage body. I think a person would paint the body up, decal it, etc., than carefully cut the fenders off, and cut little strips of velcro to bring the fenders back to the body... Might work, who knows

If all this goes well, it would be nice to see someone else in this town get one and practice some drifting and precision skills on a gymkhana course. I think it would be pretty neat to have a big parking lot setup with a couple things for doing this. And after the drifting gets boring for the day, switch to the rally tires and hit some speed bumps and catch some air lol

Okay, you've got me convinced...just picked up a second car so I can get started on one too!
Need to have one for outside and one to keep clean.

I like the idea to reproduce the KB car, I'll have to find something different for a theme.
Any tips and setup ideas for the XXXs would be great as that will probably be my base also.

Yep, will be my dedicated rally car.
I'm thinking of trying my RC Channel Pajero shocks on for size, longer, more travel and smooth...we'll see.
Put that other stuff aside and get building...I need all the tips i can get!
