View Full Version : Harder foams for 1.9 tires?

05-25-2013, 01:18 PM

I have been searching, without success, for harder foams or tire inserts for my 1.9 Baja Claws tires (the smaller ones).
I haven't run my TF2 yet, except for test runs in the living room, but because of the heavy weight of the truck (linked front and rear, roll bar, battery box, spare tire, interior etc...), the tires look really flat to me.
So do you know of stiffer foams that would fit these tires, or have you tried homemade solutions to this matter?
Thanks in advance!

Crawler Innovations do a good range of foams in various levels of hardness.

You can also stay with a soft foam and move to 2.2 inserts to increase the density.

The foams from the twin hammers are stiff I use them in my 10+ pound rig with pitbulls work great no tire roll

Well, I ordered some from Pete's link, but thanks to both of you for the hints. I have a TH and changed the tires and wheels for 1.5 and Baja Claws, so I'll check the stock foams and see how they hold up.

I made my own for my wraith with pitbulls. Old couch cushion, utility knife and a electric knife did a pretty good job.
