I use a combination of Tamiya brand "Flat Flesh" XF-15, "Buff" XF -57. The buff just takes the new skin look down a bit. I then take a transparent Brown and do a light wash over top and wipe clean. This will leave the creases and details a little darker to add realism.

Post up some pice when your done!

i had a feeling you would reply Kevin, thanks for the info.
Could you post a pic of one of your drivers so i can get an idea on what color i should end up with.
Cheers

What I usually do is 2 coats of flesh, letting them dry between coats.
It's important for the next step.
Then I use the buff color and do a wash over top, and while it's wet I gently rub the paint off the high spots with my finger. As this layer of paint sets up u use a medium size dry brush to soften the edges. This kinda gives the soft airbrushed look on the cheap.
This is a shot of mine at this stage and the second shot is a good example (not mine) of what he can look like with steady hands and a fine brush.

I picked up the brown today because I couldn't remember the part #.
It's NATO BROWN XF-68, after doing a wash of this color, I use this to put in all of the cool details.

Hope this helps, I'll post some images of the next steps (eyes) if I can track down my small brushes tonight.

Almost done the shading on the face, now just waiting for the first few layers of white to dry (eyes & fire suit). Can't seem to find my fine brush to paint in the details on the skin and eyebrows.
How you doing on yours?

I havent laid any paint just yet. I picked up the "Flat flesh" and "Buff" yesterday but the LHS was out of "Nato brown". I picked up the "Nato brown" today at another lhs. I'm jumping between projects right now. Your tips and pic have been very helpful and i'm looking for to seeing more. I cant believe how detailed some people can get these drivers.
I look forward to seeing your driver in different stages.

Cheers

Ok, my next step was the eyes and fire suit (white) , 2 or 3 coats. Then I painted the black rubber area on the helmet and the pupils (there's an indent in the plastic indicating center).

Still haven't tracked down my fine brushes so I just drew on top with photoshop to show were you can add a bit of detail with eyebrows, a few lines to add depth. The Iris is painted whatever color you want, black for the pupil and a small dot of white off centered to simulate reflection.

The eyes say alot, depending how you paint em it can show so much expression.
