View Full Version : Krylon Over Tamiya PS?

I'm wondering if anyone's ever sprayed Krylon Fusion over Tamiya PS. I'm painting an FJ shell (a la UNGLEWD) with a base of PS copper, but I've only got the Krylon for the top coat at the moment.

Am I about to destroy a shell?

I have and do but...
Ya gotta spray it on thin so it doesn't bite in to bad.
It's a synch if you're doing that kind of aged look that I do because the mistakes are the character.
If you're hoping for a beautiful finish the Krylon will never level out like Tamiya Laquer though

"Mistakes are the character" I've got so much character, it hurts! Just ask the folks at my local ER.

Thanks for the heads up on light coats. Makes perfect sense to me. I'm not going for pretty, as it wouldn't stay that way for long, and I've never been very good at it any way.

Copper...silver...olive drab...done! Went over it with 0000 steel wool to smooth out and begin the aging process. Decals are up next. Thanks, btw, for that tutorial. I did the window rubbers as suggested. Looks okay, considering it was done by a half blind gimp.
