well i was very fortunate to be able to scoop this rig up a few months ago, i had thought of finishing it up for the last buildoff but it was'nt going to be enough time to do it right.

I had been talking to heyok Al awhile ago about makeing me a custom remote for my other lowrider project i was working on before. I had a crazy idea and Al blew it out of the water and built me a crazy one of a kind remote.

there will be more updates as i get time im waiting on some more parts i want to get it operational with the new remote first before i tear it down to finish the welds on the frame and start working on some frame work for the air bags, at least look alike air bags.

well thats all for now i need to wait on some parts to arrive here are some current pictures

just putting this into a new thread of its own.

well it will be going a bit of a different route as it stands it won't be a dually unfortunately im a diehard Chevy guy and truth be told a ford hater haha. I actually don't mind this body style but am not a big fan of them in a dually. if I do have the time near the end though I may change this over to a clod buster dually if I haven't blown the budget and time line.

well here are some pictures of things I'd like to try and incorporate in this build. the frame will be finish weld filled and painted with the bed open so you can see all of the frame work. i plan to do some fenders in the bed like in the first 2 pictures

i also want to drop this body down more i dont want to have any exposed frame i want the doors dragging even if that means the tires are coming through the hood.

so a bit of an update.

well if any of you know me you know I'm really a ford hater and just have been having a really hard time sitting down and working on this with it being a ford. I know it's just an rc car but even still I still couldn't bring myself to like it.

and I've been watching head quakes many wood body's and pondering many ideas on how to machine the side panels off, I was originally planning on making this into a crawler but I don't really have time to take on two new projects as one I think is going to be hard for me with my work schedule so this is what I'm thinking now. no longer a ford but a Chevy luv my all time favourite truck.

here is the inspiration.

now here are a couple updates spent an hour or so scaling the image to the size I wanted and cut it out to get an idea of what it would look like and well all I can say is now I'm really interested in this project

03-28-2012, 10:18 PM

04-07-2012, 09:13 PM
any up dates

04-08-2012, 08:17 AM
any up dates

might have some updates today finaly some nice wheather to pull the saws out and do some cutting

04-08-2012, 03:16 PM
well had a couple hours to work on this today, scaled out a few images to make the templates and get some angles then spent a couple hours on my table saw cutting down some of the major sections before marking out the body and cutting the rest on my scroll saw. the length still needs to have some cut off the back

05-03-2012, 09:11 PM
anymore updates really want to see this done

06-27-2012, 09:46 AM
hav'nt got anymore done on this i went back to the old ford body but i just dont know if i will have the time to do this project justice i may put it up for sale.

06-28-2012, 08:41 PM
If you are interested in selling it i would love to have a go with it. You can PM me with a price that you think is fair. I have follwed this build since day one, and love everything about it. I am currently making a Lowrider Hardbody truck dragster, and have taken a few aspects from your truck. I would really like to see this thing in person.

06-28-2012, 08:50 PM
sorry to dissapoint tonto but the more i kept looking at it the more i didnt want it to leave i think it lasted 2 hours in the classifieds before i yanked the ad and couldnt bring my self to sell it yet sorry man

in the process of tearing it all apart to get down to the frame so the final brazzing can be done

06-28-2012, 09:48 PM
well i pulled everything off of it tonight to do all the final welding and brazzing and just thought i would show a picture of the frame all on its own.

06-28-2012, 10:02 PM
Haha. Right on man. Glad you're back on it.

07-03-2012, 09:27 AM
me to it felt wrong getting rid of it haha. ive been practicing my brazing on another vehicle before i started on this one i didn't want to mess it up.

07-03-2012, 09:28 AM
Glad you kept it... time to get to work!

07-08-2012, 07:45 AM

07-08-2012, 09:55 PM

07-08-2012, 10:15 PM
looking great

07-12-2012, 04:10 PM
Thanks the frame I all black now time to start on re assembly.

I still can decide what I want to do for a body of this I wouldn't mind doing a dually clod.

Paint scheme is going to be Matte red with gloss black

07-23-2012, 03:22 PM
well i saw td-civ video this morning off his low-rider with the front in action and well it made me really jealous so i decided to spend some time wrenching this morning and put the back end of mine together. hopefully have some time soon to put the front end together

i have temporarily misplaced the receiver for my special remote i ordered a new one cause well who knows how long it will take to show up haha.

still needs a lot of tuning to get the servos to the right position

well here you go proof she lives haha

07-24-2012, 01:17 PM
It's Alive!

07-24-2012, 02:04 PM
Yup sure does. I'm hoping to have the front end back together for when my new receiver shows up. maybe have it sparking in a couple weeks

07-24-2012, 06:48 PM
good vid now you just have to get it done and i need to get mine done lol

07-25-2012, 01:00 PM
haha well im a little closer today to having it going then yesterday spent a couple hours on it this morning working on the front suspension.

sorry for the poor video quality and lack of movement the front steering isn't hooked up and gets bound on the fender at about 35 seconds im only functioning on 2 switches in this video. when my receiver shows up all 4 corners will be independent as well as il be able to program the custom radio properly.

o ya and that's right it three wheels haha i shimmed the rear wheels out so it will be able to go side to side and three wheel now as well instead of just front and back movement.

07-25-2012, 02:42 PM
Nice man it come together nicely,
What's the color your going paint the body?

07-25-2012, 03:54 PM
Might go matte red and gloss black

07-26-2012, 11:11 PM
great now i have to get my rear of my truck done lol

07-27-2012, 12:04 PM
I like how the box twists with certain 'postures'.

07-27-2012, 03:10 PM
not gonna lie there are some major clearance issues haha but i mean that would be standard with a 1.1 if you were trying to lay frame on 28" inch wheels you'd have clearance issues haha.

09-06-2012, 07:07 AM

11-16-2012, 12:44 AM
anymore up dates on this monster

12-09-2012, 10:02 PM
sorry nothing yet im having radio issues. Lost my original receiver, and cant seam to bind the new one i bought to it.

12-20-2012, 10:45 PM
well after a very long few weeks at work I got a couple spare hours away from work and decided I needed to get this thing going sorted out my electronics issues.

everything works great other then steering is very minimal and might need to be reworked other than that check it out a short vid of some dragging.

when the weather clears up ill get some outside and hopefully make it spark

terrible video sorry its from my phone il use a proper camera when i do one outside

12-20-2012, 10:58 PM
