well i ordered the 1.9 swamper for my original bigbird scale build. the're to small. so i ordered the 2.2's.
well i knew that they would be huge. so i fiured ill reduce them to 1.9. this is what i have so far. on the left is an uncut 2.2 then a reduced and narrowed to a 1.9. then on the right is the 1.9 uncut. im going to now cut the already reduced 2.2 into a 1.55 to see what i get then, lol

well my results are not great. i reduced it to 1.55 turned out nice, but the lugs do not line up. on the tire it should go big small big small. but when it is reduced to a 1.55 it goes big small small big. then the rest of the tire is fine. the tire looks better for sure on my truck. it is wider than the 1.9 and thinner than the 2.2 . also shorter than the 1.9 which i was hoping it would not.
so dont waste your time trying to reduce these babies to a 1.55,cause im sure you wont be happy.

Its all in the cutting Rick. I think too many guys are trying to cut X amount out to get a certain rim size.
I always cut with my X factor being what works with the tread. I am planning on reducing a set of these for my Blue Collar jeep. (once I can use scissors again):nonono:

Nice work Rick, I was concerned about the scale of the 2.2 lugs but your width reduction took care of that.
These are going on Lil'Bird right?

Looks good Rick. What was the height of the 2.2s reduced to 1.9s? I'm guessing around 5"?

Nice job, I like the size of the reduced 2.2 to 1.9.
It would be nice to see a few pics of the steps you took in cutting these down and what type of glue you used.

ya like the hatter said u can usually fake it n go an extra tread and then stretch em on the rims. nice to see people hacking up perfectly good tires:biggthumpup:

what if you cut up the tire more? taking half from one side and hal from the other...maybe even thirds to try and not end up with a messed up tread pattern?
