View Full Version : Home Made 1.55 wheel/tires

Bigbird gave me an idea when he was over for Thanksgiving Dinner. I had some great tires mounted on 1.9 wheels that I think just look wrong, so I something about it.

These are Losi Rock Bashers mounted on some touring car wheels, 0mm offset. I cut the back ring off some old Tamiya mini wheels and glued it to the centre of my 1.9 touring car wheels. I then took a warn out set of Losi Mini T rear tires and cut them in half, trimmed them a bit and stretched them over the ring like a bib. I glued it all up and viola! The Tamiya wheels are 1.7" in diameter. RC 4wd '1.55' wheels are 1.8" in diameter.

I know it's not the best job, but it's not bad for 45min. work. It'll do for the comp on the weekend. I love these tires. The truck goes anywhere with these on it.:rock:

now i see what you did, i like it. i cant believe the difference, looks way better with the smaller rim!!

Maybe the scalest wheel/tire proportions I've seen. Looks awesome, Matt!:biggthumpup:
