    Default TRD Pro 4Runnnnnnnnnnner

    FINALLY! A 5TH GEN 4RUNNER BODY!

    AND it's 1/9 scale.

What a time to be alive.

MFab 4x4 3D Print and Design aka Manitou Liu on Facebook made these amazing bodies. They are 3D printed and require assembly and finishing but a little hard work never hurt anyone.

Progress may be slow because in addition to this one I'm also assembling imtheguy's for him. Something about he can't trust himself not to glue his fingers together or something. I don't know.

After assembling the main pieces with CA glue I then sanded a lot of the 3D print marks out. Then I smeared some glazing putty on the body and sanded it. Followed by some filler primer. I'm trying not to rely entirely on filler or primer to make it smooth. Just in case they shrink or crack or whatever. Maybe? Once again, I don't know but I don't want any surprises.

The moral of the story is you need to take your time and do these right. I saw one that was rushed and not properly prepared. Such a waste of a good body.

Here's an unfinished bonnet next to one that's been sanded and primed

    And the gate

And a body almost ready after a few weeks of work

Agreed - Iíve seen way too many pictures on the MFab Facebook page of customersí builds where print lines are easily visible. These bodies deserve a lot of TLC - these look great so far.
