Started cutting the doors out. First one didn't go so well

Repaired that, did the second, and now have 5 seperate parts:

Waiting for more hinges to be delivered, so I guess I'll make a start on the interior.

This is one of the best rc bodies I've ever seen. I would love to see it on an old 6x6 military chassis.

    Fantastic.

I used some of these photos in my talk on styrene building at the USTE as an example of advanced building techniques. People were blown away.

They were never made as a 6x6, but I can try it out. Recently built one, so trying the cab out on there isn't too difficult.

Ha ha for real? Thanks. Wow. Not all that advanced though - I'm just dancing around the edges. THIS is advanced (it's not mine).

By the way did you film your talk? Would love to watch it.

That's a nice looking Ural. Did u build it? My dream is to build a Kraz 255b from scratch. I have very little styrene building skills yet tho. But one day........

    Yeah that's mine. Not scratch-built though, it's a Cross UC6 kit.

Just as I started playing around with a dashboard the door hinges I've been waiting for arrived The dashboard on this thing is interesting. First, the dials aren't centered - they're a little to the left of the steering wheel's center. Also, whilst looking for reference pics online I discovered that the F5 was convertible to 4x4 after all. It was an aftermarket conversion done by an outfit called the Marmon-Herrington Company. They're still around today, and still do 4x4 conversions.

Started with the left dial, which has indicators for battery, temperature, fuel and oil pressure.

Here's where I got to. The speedometer isn't accurate but I wanted it to look more like the other one.
