Great idea... i'm liking this. I'm really into the idea of trailers.

We need a trailer sub-forum here perhaps.

The trailer looks great but I was expecting a scale version of this:

Thanks, might as well get more use out of the platform.

Honestly, trailers add a WHOLE new aspect to scale wheeling.

    Great idea!!

Sorry about the delay, but I have been having a great time wheeling the Caravan with the D110.

OK, carrying on from the last update, I kept going with the diamond plate around the van.

As you can see I started marking out where the 'windows' etc would be.

The windows are simply another piece glued on top with a small right angle length of styrene on the top.

The door however, needed to be a bit more detailed to be convincing.

I had to cut out the spot for the door before attaching it to the van.

Then it was time to start laying down some paint!!!!

The 'A/C Box' on the roof got a quick rub down.

    oooooo, Primer Grey!!!

I wanted a colour that wasn't white, and in the end settled on a colour called Winter Grey. This has a Satin Finish, which works great.

Quick mock up on the chassis.

The windows needed to be blacked out, as many fullsize versions appear from the outside.

While that was drying I put together some front detail items.

A tube for tent poles, a couple of 3D printed GAS bottles, and this awesome toolbox from RC4WD.

I excitedly started bolting on all the diamond plate with the 1.6mm scale bolts. Got half the bolts in the first piece and promptly dropped the tiny 1.5mm socket. It went to hang out with all the 10mm sockets that are missing.

In frustration, I packed up and went to see if I could order another 1.5mm socket. And of course they are out of stock.

    Until next time.

    Cheers

Looking good! It's gonna take some reversing to fit in the driveway..

Some giant person left a Dremel box on the roof though!
