Default Project Unimog 6x6 - Cooper

    Hi,

This is my 6x6 project. It's a Unimog, based on 2150 blueprints but 6x6. It's a long term project, mostly because it's my first real scratchbuild body(I've made a Scorpion 4x4 before)

I've started with the frame rails. They're not similar to the real ones but will suit. The parts that stick out were for the 3th axle links. Later, scraped the idea

    First batch of parts:

Building links is a PITA. 4 of 12

Overview. The definitive tires(thanks The-gamer!), and the Junfac SR02 on the front. The other ones are only for mock up

Now, the body...it's still a work in progress

First fitting of the hatch, too tall. Had to be lowered

A unimog is always good for an interesting build!

Can you explain how the chassis rails are made?

    regards

Hi, I made the rails using a technique i've seen on other foruns. First, take some square tubing, shape it and then cut the tubing in half to split it. Then, you have 2 equal halves

Well, I think it's time for more photos:

a simple transfer case to fullfill the goal of front motor

    In place

The earlier stage of the bumper, now it's more refined but still no headlights

After a lot of brainstorming, came with this setup. Offers low CG and it's compact to be under the cabin's interior. I think will can squeeze a winch servo in the space between the motor and the bumper

    With the engine/gearbox mockup

    With the real motor:

    Worked on the rear section:

After 2 coats of mate clear mate, it does not shine
