Default Jeep JK 2 door - project started !

My 2nd post, and it is another Jeep !!!

I am planning to make all jeep series, YJ, CJ, TJ, etc, all of them this year :)
So much Jeep addicted these days !! ( I am even thinking of changing my real-size car to Wrangler ! haha )

    ====================

Okay! It is a 2-door Jeep JK.

This JK body has been around on ebay since sometime last year, and I bought one as soon as i saw them.
Too bad I bought them too early, it was around $150 (its around 70-80 now?) akkkk!!!

And for chassis, I bought one from rcmodelex.
Too bad, skeleton chassis from GCM wasnt available when I had this project in mind.
Skeleton appears to be more functional and good for customization, but for now, i will just go ahead with it.

I enjoy doing scale body work more than the rest like making and putting chassis, drivetrain, etc together.
I will worry about them later, lets begin body work !! yay.

Inspired from following pics, I decided to make combinations of those!
With a help from a buddy from local hobby community,
I am planning to apply 2 concepts on this project, "Closed" and "Open".

For the "Closed" concept, it is simply the 'hard-top' version, but with a roof rack and a tire rack.

For the "Open" concept, it is convertible (?) with some off-road features that includes different doors, rear tire rack, led bar on hood and on front window.

So... these are about what I have in mind.
I will try applying all these in this project

Next post, some work done over last few days!! hehe

    Some work done !

To start with, I just put chassis, axle, shocks, links roughly together. I will need to adjust them later.

Here comes my favorite part, BODY WORK !!!

    Easy roof rack first !

    Now, doors !

    Next, Tire rack !!

    Putting things together :) !!!

Looking not bad so far :)

But having so much trouble making the led light bar mount. Cant make the exact fit to the front window. sigh.
I will just have work on it more over the weekend!

Default metal work for body done.

Led mount bar was the pain in the *** !
I've wasted almost 1 meter of aluminum plate for this little piece.

And, just spray painted and all parts put together ! No more metal work for this project.

led bars from rc4wd. Not the exact design i want. I gotta learn how these things work so I can make one for my next project.

Now, its time for the chassis !! :)
