Cheers, I have to say that I like it more each time I run it, I really hope that changing the axles doesn't destroy it's character, but at least I can always go back to this set if it does.

Who knew the English countryside had so many hills!
Don't say that to a Welshman as them thar hills is in North Wales(just), but it is surprising how many decent sized hills there are in the more northerly bits of the UK I just struggle to make time to go and explore them

I finally bit the bullet and pulled this apart today, with a view to putting a new set of axles under it.

I have also decided to try a different motor and transmission as well.

So stripped the axles off and removed a few brackets,

and then started mocking up the new rear suspension.

and finally started making the rear axle housing.

    More soonish.

Oh wow, ripping off the axles and fit/built new ones, is nearly the same as builing a new rig. Especially when you really do what I suggest, while seeing the SDI axle and portal mounting plates at the tube ends...

This will be a killer! I will stay tuned and want to see it grow!

Well, I have finally got a bit more progress to report

got the new transmission installed, I went for a 1/16 traxxas gearbox with a 55T spur and 2 internal gears swapped to give a nice amount of gear reduction, I also got a Hot-racing 540 motor mount as stock the transmission takes a 380 sized motor.

next up was to mount the transfer box, made a new skid and also managed to shave 10mm off the height of the chassis rails. Still needs a bit more bracing

Having the transfer box mounted allowed me to make a start on the torque tube for the rear axle.

Rear axle just needs a couple of axle shafts the rear shocks mounting and the panhard mounts and bar making then I can get on to the front.

    More in the coming days.

Thank you sir, It has taken along time to get my mojo going again, I have also had a couple of commissions including another Mog.

Today got the rear axle all mounted , all it needs are a couple of shafts and then some paint and scale touches.

    Torque tube braces mounted

    then panhard brackets and bar

    Finally a shot from underneath.

I have also realized that I can mount the battery/batteries under the bed floor which will help lower the CoG and gives more space for the electrics in the tool box.

    More tomorrow.
