I probably would have cried
o man that sucks glad its easy to fix
Thanks guys.
The drivers still kinda shook up about the crash so i don't dare tell him that he lost ride of the month too. Ha.
Before i put the Escort into a tree though, i got a bunch of nice footage of him riding the track.
I also collected some real audio clips of a mk1 escort doing its rally thing on youtube and carefully synced up audio for a few laps worth of footage.
It turned out pretty cool.
I edited some laps with the natural speed and sound too. The tracks a little tight still for this big car but it was pretty fun.
The tires have too much grip with this weight though and i was having a hard time sliding.
It was folding the tires over sometimes and really wanting to roll.
Which it did a few times. Ha.
Gotta work on that still, i want this guy to slide like he's supposed to.

Hey guys, i've been playing with this big rally car again lately. Been tryna get its suspension a bit better. I've said it before but this inboard Traxxas set up is really heavyduty but not really perfect for this car. I'm still working on it though.
I took the rear tires off the rim and filled them up with a really stiff dense foam i found in a shipping box for telescope lens. You know that thick stuff for supporting heavy things in a box? Its hard to even squeeze the tires at all now and they are working better. The rubbers still too soft but their not folding over as much anymore.
I think the main problem now is the open diff in the rear. I wanna power slide this thing around the corners but when i try, the weight shifts to the outside tire and the inner one spins. Kinda ruins the drift completely so i'm gonna open that up soon and see if i can lock it somehow. Then we'll get some drifting i bet.
You can see what i mean in this new vid i shot.
This car in particular is very dangerous to shoot with this nice camera. Its fast, unstable, heavy and tends to shoot rocks out the back with great force. Ha. As you can also see in the vid, i usually drive from right behing the camera so i can try to stop the car from hitting into it if necessary, though it usually hurts me in the process, the cameras still fine :)
A few new pics too.

Very nice. A lot of terrain I didn't think this car could handle, but glad to see it in it's true element - trails. It looks really good. I'm definitely going to have to go with that Kyosho rally car now. The rally bug has bitten me!

Man, some of those scenes looked so real! Driving in the forest, I kept picturing you arriving at the cabin from 'evil dead', for some reason.....not sure why....maybe it's because that car is a beast!
