Got around to starting on another Supra. This one should go relatively quickly. Will have a Tamiya interior and led's, but nothing crazy or Kevin Jowett'esque. Even decided to keep the paint scheme simple... black on black on black... I sense a theme there.

Ordered some stuff... some of it's here, some of it isn't. Hurry up mail lady.

HPI Supra Aero shell
HPI Work XSA 02C Wheels
HPI Yokohama Advan Tires
Axial LED controller
Tamiya cockpit
Misc. scale goodies (exhaust, intercooler, etc.)

Had what I think is a stroke of scale genius. HATE the Boeing 747 wing that HPI includes with the shell, so after many nights of scratching the ever growing bald spot on the back of my head, a thought presented itself. What if I took a Traxxas Ken Block 2 piece wing, separated it, then mounted it to the smaller mounts that HPI was so gracious to include with the body. So... I did it... in that order. Dremel'd the mounts just a tad to better fit the curve of the shell. For a second I felt like Headquake dremel'ing a whole body from a block of wood. Then I returned to reality.

Can't see the lightbuckets very well but they're in there. I tinted the glass on both ends to really darken the look of everything. Anxious to see how the LED's look lit up behind the tint.

More pics as soon as I paint and mount the interior, but here's a few poser shots on completely different wheels/tires, with no LED's, no scale accessories, and no interior. Pretty anticlimactic huh?! At least the wing looks pretty good...

It gets hot down in here in the dirty south. Figured I'd take the top out to let the breeze come in.

I like the Targa Top out and cool source for the spoiler, nice looking project.
Is the lightning on the stock chassis?

Thanks Kev! Yes, I believe it is the TT-01 chassis underneath. My son's. ;) He wanted to get into drifting with his old man. Or at least... pretending to drift as neither of us are any good at it. He might be better than I. shhh

I like soup.

Shouldn't everyone?! Soup is good. Mmmm, soup.

Found a inside fender cooler thingy laying around the garage. Figured it would help keep the mess under the hood cool on these hot summer afternoons. Up on the jacks now waiting on exhaust and wheels/tires.

Coffee can... I'm a Starbucks junkie. My coffee comes in bags and in overpriced disposable cups. No no, the can was filled with paint silly. Graphics you ask? Why absolutely... where do you think the paint can came from?!

You don't like soup... figures since you don't smell like it. Glad you like mine though.

Got a delivery from Tower today... it wasn't what I needed to finish the Soup. :p6639707: So, I made a work bench for the garage. Still need to put the handles on the doors/drawers, but you get the idea.

Who makes the metal treadbrite? All I can find is the Plastruct stuff and I'm not digging it.

Soupra looks delicious.

Productive morning. Sprayed some paint, and beheaded Duke Nukem. :paranoid: shhh Didn't want a helmeted driver behind the wheel as I'm trying to go for a weekend street racer kind of thing, so I opted out of the stock Tamiya piece. I think Mr. N. looks right at home.

Figured I'd update this thread. Been unbelievably busy with my job for the last few months. No time for fun.

Finally got this pile finished. Had a lot of fun with this. Learned a great deal for the next one(s)...

Finally bought a turk to tow my junk. Here I am going to back to the garage, because no one in my area drives on-roads. :p6639707:

Did you get a security system at your home because I invited myself over for steaks and cake? I mean if you don't have any steaks and cake I'll settle for pizza and pop. Don't have to barricade the place ya know.

Nice soup. The Honcho is missing something... unicorns... and a pintle hitch. I forgot to send it back with the trailer. May I have your address? Feel free to post it in this public forum. Or PM, whatever!

Thanks Kev... happy to be back in the saddle!! Turk is a new addition. Just a couple weeks old. Just a few upgrades so far, motor/esc/servo. Think I'll stick one of those Tundar bodies down on top of it, as I'm not just fond of Tiyote cars. I think I remember some noob having a rather nice Tundar some time ago...

It's okay, it's a Noob-safe alarm. I have a large grill and 2 kids... there's almost always steaks, cake, pizza and pop in Midland Manor. I'll send a carrier pigeon up there to O-HIGH-O with my gps coordinates since it would appear you've misplaced them. Will a Unicorn fit in the mailbox? I like unicorns. rudy

Thanks Alan! Given my complete lack of skill I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out . Glad you like the spoiler... it's what I'm happiest about on this build ironically.

The shop needs some serious work, but once the time frees up more, hopefully she'll get some much needed attention.
